Surface Preparations: All surfaces must be cleaned and dry, free from dirt, grease, wax, etc. New Wood: Should be sanded thoroughly to a smooth surface using fine grit sandpaper and removing all sanding dust. Old Finishes: Should be sanded thoroughly removing surface scratches and scuff marks. Glossy surface should be dulled with very fine grit sandpaper complete removal of the old finish is not necessary. For renovations: surfaces with deep scratches, strong discoloration, peeling on excessively worn areas or grazed. Or cracked finishes should be chemically stripped or sanded down to bare wood. DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL.

Do not shake or thin. Stir well prior to and during use. Apply 3-4 coats using a synthetic brush. Lambs- wool application should be leveled off immediately with a brush. Apply generously without over brushing, wet edging repeatedly. Avoid working back into partially dry areas.

Approximately 300-400 square ft. per gallon for unsealed areas 400-500 square ft.

Clean Up: All tools and equipment can be cleaned with soap and warm water. Cleaning: Use only mild detergent to clean and maintain the appearance of the finished surface. DO NOT USE ACLOHOL, STRONG SOLVENTS, VINEGAR OR AMMONIATED CLEANERS.

Cautionary Measures: For optimal results, do not apply when air or surface temperature is below 50 degrees. F. use with adequate ventilation and avoid temperature and humidity extremes. To avoid lap marks do not work back into partially dried areas and avoid extremely hot, dry or drafty conditions as these may cause the refinish to dry too quickly, resulting in lap marks. If surface is to be stained allow to dry for 2 days before application of first coat of Dunwell Satin Water Borne Polyurethane. Additional coats of the finish may be applied after 2-3 hours of drying time. Dunwell Satin Water Borne Polyurethane dries hard in 3-4 hours but may take up to one week for it to reach its utmost strength and cure; therefore care should be taken to avoid any abuse or spill during the week after application.
